It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy Marie Arsenault (nee Gallant), wife of the late Pierre J. Arsenault, with her children by her side at the Summerset Manor, Summerside, on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, formerly of Cape Egmont, at the age of 90. Born in Cape Egmont June 21, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Jean Wilfred and Marie Leonie Gallant (nee Richard). She is survived by sons and daughters Doreen (Chuck) Sergent of Brampton, Ont., Nancy Smith (Bill Case) of Abram-Village, Eldon (Sandy) Arsenault of Mont-Carmel, Roger Arsenault of Richmond, B.C., Clifford (Ann) Arsenault of Brampton, Ont., Dianne (Abel) Bernard of Abram-Village, Linda (Bill) Brownridge of Brampton, Ont., Louise Gallant of Abram-Village, Velma (Reiner) Woermann of Bracebridge, Ont., Gerald Arsenault (Leslie Hollenga) of Lindsay, Ont., Muriel (Amand) Bernard of Abram-Village, and Julliette (Harold) McIntyre of Brampton, Ont. She is also survived by brothers and sisters Wilfred (Yvette) Gallant of N.B., Zoel Gallant of Brampton, Ont., and Georgina (Norman) Desmarais of Massachusetts, U.S., and by sister-in-law Flora Gallant of Summerside. Dorothy had 19 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was also predeceased by a son Leonard and a daughter Frances. Resting at Evangeline Co-op Funeral Home, Urbainville, until Monday, Jan. 7, then to St. Philippe and St. Jacques Church, Egmont Bay, where funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the church cemetery at a later date in Notre Dame du Mont-Carmel Church Cemetery in Mont-Carmel. Visitation to take place on Sunday, Jan. 6, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations made Evangeline Co-op Funeral Home Building Fund or a charity of your choice will be greatly appreciated.
