It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jacqueline Marie Gallant (nee Arsenault) wife of her first husband the late Andrew Arsenault and her second husband the late Aubin J.S. Gallant, with her children by her side at the Summerset Manor, Summerside, on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, formerly of Mont-Carmel at the age of 94. Born in St. Gilbert Dec. 4, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Albenie and Philomene Arsenault. She is survived by sons and daughters Gerry (Zelma) Arsenault of Summerside, Jean Eudes Gallant of Milton, Jimmy (Zita) Gallant of Summerside, Leonie (Lloyd) Perry of New Annan, Adrien (Jackie) Gallant of Cambridge, Ont., Jeanne Gallant of Summerside, Paul Gallant of Chetichamp, NS, Cecile (Reg) Robichaud of Bouctouche, N.B. Survived by sister Annette Obrien of MacEwen Mews, Margate. She also survived by 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She is also predeceased by her sisters Beatrice, Mary Thompson and Aldona Gallant and brothers Gilbert and Azade, also by daughter-in-law Maureen Gallant. She was a member of Les Dames du Sanctuaire de Mont-Carmel. Resting at Evangeline Co-op Funeral Home, Urbainville, until Wednesday, Jan. 9, then to St. Philippe and St. Jacques Church, Egmont Bay, where funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the church cemetery at a later date in Notre Dame du Mont-Carmel Church cemetery in Mont-Carmel. Visitation to take place on Tuesday, Jan. 8, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations made to Haiti, Summerset Manor Equipment Fund, Evangeline Building Fund or Mont-Carmel Cemetery Fund will be greatly appreciated.
