Gerald Baltzer

BALTZER, Gerald Frederick – 74, of Paradise, NS passed away suddenly on Friday, January 4, 2013 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in South Williamston, he was a son of the late Frederick and Evelyn (Bent) Baltzer. Gerald was employed for approximately 40 years as the Body Shop Foreman with Everett & Smith Ltd., Bridgetown and for approximately 30 years Gerald & Rose sold citrus from Carleton Corner and later their home in Paradise to help support church organizations. He enjoyed hunting, was an avid fisherman, and loved working in the woods. He also loved gardening and was a great hockey fan. He loved the Lord and was a great inspiration and witness to others and was a Deacon with the Seventh day Adventist Church. He is survived by his loving wife the former Rhoda “Rose” Bent, Paradise; his children, Mark (Debbie) Baltzer, Beaverbank; Garry (Shelley) Baltzer, Clarence; Richard (Nancy) Baltzer, Falmouth, Sharon (Paul) Keizer, Geary, NB; his sisters, Colleen (Doug) Pinch, Waterville; Sheila (James) Longley, Liverpool; his brothers, Lawrence (Marion) Baltzer, Burton, NB; Bill (Betty) Baltzer, Tremont; Robert “Bob” (Rosemond) Baltzer, North Williamston and grandchildren, Miranda Amon; Marissa Awalt; Josh Baltzer; Nicole Baltzer; Caleb Baltzer and Ethan Baltzer. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Mary and his brother, Eric. Visitation was held Monday, January 7, 2013 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448. Funeral service was held Tuesday, January 8, 2013 in the Middleton Seventh Day Adventist Church with Pastor John Fournier officiating. A reception for family and friends followed the service. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Lawrencetown. Donations in Gerald’s memory may be made to the Middleton Seventh Day Adventist Church.
