Mary Wakeham has entered into the company of the Lord. She passed to the next life peacefully and with dignity on January 9, 2013 surrounded by her husband James and family members. Preceding her were her parents Patrick and Hilda and her younger sister Rosemary. She loved James, her husband of 57 years, who has always been at her side. Remembering her are her children Tony Wakeham (Patricia) and Hilda Wakeham-Dunn (Christopher Dunn) and grandchildren Stephanie and Christopher Wakeham and Christopher and James Dunn. Her sisters Stella (Bob) Elias, Anne (Don) Tarrant, Nellie Boylan (Ron, deceased), Angela (John) Hanrahan, and brothers Mike (Marguerite) Ryan, Pat (Blanche) Ryan, and Anthony (Margaret) Ryan are joined in memory of her wonderful life. So too are brother-in-law Fred (Mel) Wakeham, and sisters-in-law Sister Lillian Wakeham (Presentation Convent), Kathleen Wakeham (Paul, deceased) and Maria Adams (George, deceased) and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She touched everyone with her holiness, dedication to education (a teacher and vice-principal for 40 years) and love of people and family. Resting at Maher’s Funeral Home in Placentia. Visitation will be from 1-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Friday, January 11 and from 10-12 noon on Saturday, January 12. If desired, donations of flowers are gratefully accepted. Her life will be celebrated with a Mass of Catholic burial at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 12 at Our Lady of Angels Roman Catholic Church in Placentia.
