It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Frederick Clarence Cameron Sr., 72 of Amherst on Friday, January 11, 2013 at his home, with his loving wife by his side.
Born July 25, 1940 in Maccan, NS, he was a son of the late Chesley and Myrtle (Dykens) Cameron.
Throughout his working life, Fred was employed at Ray Crawford Roofing and Siding Ltd. as well as for Thompson Bros. Ltd. for many years. An avid outdoorsman, his passion was being with nature and enjoying fishing and hunting. During his retired years, Fred continued to offer a lending hand by being the resident “Handyman” at West Highland Manor. He will always be remembered for his loving, compassionate care shown to his beloved wife for many years.
Fred leaves to mourn his loving wife of 47 years, Beverley (Gaudet); beloved children, daughter, Rose Ann, who always held a special place in his heart; son, Fred Jr. (Melanie), Markham, ON; special grandchildren, Eric and Emmalee; sisters, Audrey Chapman; brothers, Gordon, Jackie, Ed (Diane), David and Ronald (Judy); as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Besides his parents, Fred was predeceased by sister, Marie Nelson and brothers, Morton and Reginald.
As per Fred’s wishes, cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Campbell’s Funeral Home, Amherst (667-9906). There will be no visitation or funeral service.
Memorial donations in Fred’s memory may be made to the Kidney Foundation or charity of your choice.
