Of Upper Island Cove passed away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Wednesday, January 16, 2013. Mr. Young was 91 years old. He leaves to mourn his loving family: brother Gordon (Olga) Young, a large circle of nieces & nephews & special care givers: Gloria James & Irene Mercer. Predeceased by parents Arthur & Ellen Young, brothers Llewellyn (Vie), Arthur (Ruth) & Arch (Emma), sisters Vera Stefanaff (Stephen) & Evelyn Drover (Joe). A funeral service will take place on Saturday, January 19, 2013, 12 noon at Slade’s Funeral Home, Cranes Road, Upper Island Cove. The family will be receiving relatives and friends at Slade’s Funeral Home, Cranes Road, Upper Island Cove, between the hours of Thursday 7 - 9 p.m. & Friday 2 - 5 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his loving memory to a charity of one’s choice.
