Passed away on January 19th, 2013 at the age of 54 in a tragic motor vehicle accident on Salmonier Line. Predeceased by his father William and brother Kelly. Leaving to mourn his wife Donna (nee Skanes) and sons: Jason (Kim) and Ryan. Also leaving to mourn his mother Gayle; brothers: Sean (Shelly), Michael (Dale), Patrick (Arlene); sisters: Carrie (Edward) and Ann (Brent); his dear aunt Wynn, Ann Wadden, aunt Joan O’Driscoll and special cousin Chris (Donna) O’Driscoll. Father and mother in-law: Gerald and Maude Skanes; brother in-law Gerry (Kim) Skanes; sister-in-law Beverley Leloche-Skanes (Cheikh); and many nieces and nephews including God-daughter Jennifer Leloche; the Cahill family (Nova Scotia) and his many good buddies. Steve is resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, St. John’s. Visiting hours are Tuesday from
7-9 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon., 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral will be held at St. Pius X Parish Church, Smithville Crescent on Friday, January 25th at 9:30 a.m. Cremation to follow In Lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Alzheimers Society or the East Coast Trail.
