LOWER SACKVILLE – Margaret Ann Fraser, age 60, of Cockburn Dr., Lower Sackville, passed away on Sunday, January 20th, 2013 in the QEII VG Site, Halifax.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of Phoebe (Buell) Sample and the late Frank Sample.
Margaret was a resident of Lower Sackville since 1980. During her working career she worked for the Town of New Glasgow, Ocean Harvesters of Newfoundland and Cobequid Multi Service Centre until she retired. She was an adherent of the First Presbyterian Church, Lower Sackville. Margaret’s hobbies included knitting, sewing, camping, gardening, bowling, roller skating and music. Time spent at Samplebutt Lodge in Sunny Brae was something that Margaret enjoyed with her family. Her greatest enjoyment in life was her grandchildren.
Surviving besides her mother are her husband, Wayne Fraser; a daughter Julie (David) Benoit, Montreal; a son Bradley (Lynn) Fraser, Upper Sackville; grandchildren: Libby, Penny, Elliott, Oscar, Riley and Owen; brothers: Charlie (Barb) Sample, Newfoundland; Henry (Leanne) Sample, Enfield; Floyd Sample, North River; a sister Pam Sample; New Glasgow; mother-in-law Vinie Fraser, Thorburn.
Margaret was predeceased by her father.
The family will receive visitors from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, 256 King St., New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jeff Lackie officiating. Burial will be in the Thorburn Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Margaret may be made to the Diabetic Assoc. or to the QEII Foundation.
