As huge snowflakes fell softly to the ground, God took his angel Darlene Jean Webb home to heaven.
Darlene went home Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013.
Born in Halifax, July 1, 1957, Darlene was the daughter of the late Reginald and Gwendolyn Thornton of Halifax.
She is survived by her loving husband, John ‘Jake’ Webb; the sons she adored, Jake (Courtney), Calgary, and David, Dartmouth; sister, Susan (Larry) Francis, Lower Sackville; and brother, Billy Thornton, Halifax. She is also survived by mother and father-in-law, John and Florence Webb, New Waterford; niece, Natasha; nephews, Larry and Ryan. Also left to mourn are sisters and brothers-in-law, Debbie (Tom) Hutchison, Janice Webb, Jean (Ron Roche) Webb, Kim Webb, Ron (Cheryl) Webb and Dan (Lorraine) Webb. She is also survived by her wonderful friend, Beverly Kavanaugh and her greatest joy, her cat ‘Lilly.’
Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by brothers-in-law, Ken Webb and Peter Muise.
Visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 25 from 7-9 p.m. A mass to celebrate Darlene’s life will be held in the Parish of Saint Leonard on Jan. 26 at 10 a.m. with Fr. Ray Huntley officiating. Burial in St. Alphonse Cemetery, Victoria Mines, followed by a luncheon in the parish hall, Convent Street.
Arrangements are under the direction of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave., New Waterford, 862-7500.
