REGIER - Bernhard Calvin (Cal) Regier of Abbotsford, BC, died unexpectedly on Saturday, January 9, in Abbotsford Hospital. Cal was born near Swift Current, SK, on May 1, 1933, to David and Agnetha Regier. He met and married Pearl Wutzke in 1955. Cal spent much of his life in Alberta and BC where he worked at a variety of jobs and made many friends along the way. Cal touched everyone he met with his genuine love for people and willingness to help others. Even after retiring, Cal never lost his desire to help others less fortunate than himself. Recently, he could be seen in Abbotsford raising money for the needy through the Salvation Army Christmas Kettle program. He was active in the Sevenoaks Alliance Church, helping with various programs. Cal is survived by his wife, Pearl; his son, Wendell and his wife Terrie; his daughter, Lori Hunter and her husband Doug; and his daughter, Teresa Stobbe and her husband Darci. Cal enjoyed being with his grandchildren: Jamie, Chelsey, Chloe, Jesse, Madeline, Nicolas and Jaxson. Cal enjoyed spending time with his brothers: Edward, Ernest, Johnny, Karan and their wives. Cal was predeceased by his parents David and Agnetha Regier, sisters Edna, Esther and Leona and sister-in-law Helen Regier. The interment was held ad Maclure Mennonite Cemetery at 1:00PM on Thursday, January 14. The memorial service was held at Sevenoaks Alliance Church at 2:30pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alliance Missions Global Advance Fund.
