NEW GLASGOW – Edna M. Finley, 92, Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow, passed away, Sunday, January 27, 2013 in the Manor, surrounded by her family.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late William and Lilly (Matthews) Dean. She was a member of Trinity United Church, New Glasgow. Edna was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She has left a legacy of love to her family. Surviving are her daughter, Deanna (Bill) Weeks, Stellarton; Judi (Paul) Funk, Calgary, Alta.; sons, Bill (Shirley), Dartmouth; Reg (Donna), Stellarton; Doug, New Glasgow; sister, Irene (Blake) Walls, Oshawa, Ont.; grandchildren, Cindy (Jeff), Trevor (Hayley) and Derek (Carla); great-grandchildren, Shaun, Brian, Amanda, Jack, Alyssa and Ava; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Clarence Miller “Fin” Finley; sister, Mamie McCarron; brothers, Charles, Colin and Reg.
In keeping with Edna’s wishes there will be no visitation. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
The Finley family wish to thank the staff at Glen Haven Manor for the wonderful care Edna received over the past 19 years.
