Passed peacefully away on Saturday, 26 January, 2013, Pauline Seviour (nee Duffy), aged 81 years. “Dole” beloved and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Dear wife of Dr. James F. Seviour, mother of Colm (Jill), Paul (Carolyn), Michael, David, Rosann (Steve), James Jr. (Victoria) and Peter (Jillian). Grandmother of Jamie, Laura, Declan, Allyson, Sean, Stephen, Emma, David Jr., Anna, Eoin, Danielle, Ellen, Cassie, Taja, Tieg, Andrew, Adam, and Jennifer. Pauline is also mourned by a wide circle of the Duffy and Gallagher families and friends in Ireland. Pauline was in her youth an accomplished net-ball and camogie player and concluded her secondary schooling entirely in Gaelic, finishing as head girl at the Loretto Abbey Girls’ School of Dublin, Ireland. She then studied at University College, Dublin, graduating with a medical degree in 1955. She practiced medicine in the specialized field of public health, first in Galway, Ireland and later in St. John’s, until she “retired” to raise her 7 children. Pauline was a most literate, gracious and kind lady who possessed an extraordinary appetite for life and a marvelous sense of humour. Among her many roles, her most shining and proud accomplishments were those of wife, mother and friend. Cremation has occurred. Visitation will be at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road, on Tuesday, January 29 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and on Wednesday, January 30, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Pius X, Smithville Crescent, at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 31. In lieu of flowers, donations to Our Living Room at the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre (in support of breast cancer patients) will be gratefully received.
