Jeffrey Murray “Jeff” Spicer - 39, of Cambridge, Kings County, passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at home. Born in Kentville, he was a son of Murray and Barbara “Barb” (Parker) Spicer, North Alton. He was a graduate of Central Kings Rural High School and later received his BBA from Acadia University. He had been employed with Michelin Tire for 13 years and later owned and operated Macer Homes. He was a sports enthusiast and football fan and had been active in coaching his son’s basketball team. He was a caring, compassionate person and was always willing to lend a helping hand when needed. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a son, Elijah and his mother, Juanita Dukeshire; two sisters, Brenda Spicer, Coldbrook; Adrienne (Nathan) Crosby, Sioux Lookout, Ontario; a nephew, Parker; aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by an infant sister, Angela; maternal grandparents, Theda and Avon Parker; paternal grandparents, Lester and Leonore Spicer. Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, January 27, 2013 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception, was held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 28, 2013, Reverend Karen Doucette and Reverend June Keddy officiating. Burial took place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Donations in memory may be made to a trust fund to be established for Elijah’s education.
