Bill MacCabe

CENTRAL WEST RIVER - William Alexander Scott “Bill” MacCabe, 72, Central West River, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 26, 2013, in Colchester Regional Hospital.

Born in Pictou, Bill was a son of the late Alvin and Gladys (MacDonald) MacCabe.

Bill was a school bus driver and had operated a snow plow with the Dept. of Highways for several years. Bill owned and operated his own trucking and excavating company and was also co-owner of MacCabe’s Mobile Home Park, Central West River.

He will be sadly missed by his wife Edith Mae “Edie” (MacKenzie); daughter Joanne MacCabe, Central West River; 3 sons, Steven, Langley B.C.; Craig (Tina O’Connell) Middle Stewiacke; Jim (Kim Boudreau), Thunder Bay; daughter-in-law Wendy MacCabe, Fall River; grandchildren, Winston George; Emma MacCabe, Sarah MacCabe and Tate MacCabe; sisters, Barbara Ann Grant (Ira), Caribou; Colleen Parker (Bob), Central West River; brothers, John Alvin (Shirley), Loch Broom and Duncan (Robin Barkhouse), Loch Broom; brother-in-law Robert “Bob” MacKenzie (Mae Bigney), Alma; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitations will be held Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. His funeral service will be held 2 o’clock Thursday from Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville with the Rev. Barb Fotheringham officiating. Burial will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens.
