Passed peacefully away on Tuesday, January 29th, 2013 Mary (Dray) French, aged 89 years, surrounded by her children. Predeceased by her beloved husband Bill; her sister Eliza and her brothers: Mickey and Paddy. Survived by her children: Jim (Mary), Betty, and Cathie (Dan Boone); her grandchildren: Kim, Erin, Carly and Michael and her sisters: Margaret Drake and Theresa Dray. Originally from Little Bona, Placentia Bay, Mary dedicated her working life to helping others in cottage hospitals and, most proudly, at the Sanitarium, where she worked with patients during the tuberculosis epidemic. Mary had a generous heart and contributed in many ways to those less fortunate. She was a devout Catholic and knew when her time came, she would be going to a better place. Mary will be resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Wednesday, from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Teresa’s Church on Friday, February 1st, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Flowers welcome or donations made in her memory to NL Lung Association.
