D’ENTREMONT, Captain Harold Elizée – Age 99, of Nakile Home for Special Care, Argyle, formerly of Lower West Pubnico, passed away peacefully January 7, 2013, in the Home. Born in Lower West Pubnico on May 10, 1913, to the late Ferdinand “Urie” and Esther “Laura” (Duon) d’Entremont. Harold was a veteran of the Second World War, having served four years in the Canadian Army and was a founding member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 66, West Pubnico. He was also a long-time fisherman having fished lobster, herring and swordfish from Cape Hatteras to the Grand Banks. He is survived by his wife, the former Jennie Richardson of St. Stephen, NB; son, Carl (Shirley), Lower West Pubnico; daughters, Virginia (Gordon) d’Eon, Middle West Pubnico; Rhoda (Donnie) Jacquard, Lower Wedgeport; grandchildren, Claudell and Joey; great-grandchildren, Shawnda and Taylor. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, the former Cecile Margaret d’Entremont; brothers, Leslie, Austin and Joseph; sisters, Genevieve, Flora and Myrtle. Visitation was held in West Pubnico Funeral Home in Middle West Pubnico. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, Middle West Pubnico with Msgr. Gerald LeBlanc officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Peter’s Cemetery Fund or to a charity of choice.
