The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by her loving family at her late residence on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, of Mary Corinne (nee Barriault) Gallant of Summerside and formerly of Maximville, aged 86 years. Mary was born on Sept. 25, 1926, in Maximville to her late parents Archie and Lena (nee Arsenault) Barriault. Beloved wife of Alyre Gallant and loving mother of Roger (Judy), Roma (Jim) all of Summerside, Gary (Eva) of Brampton, Ont., Paul of Summerside, Peter (Christine) of Summerside, Anne (Paul) Butler of Amherst, N.S., David (Lori) of Irishtown and Dennis (Rachael) of Summerside. Also lovingly remembered by 9 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and by her sister Louise Gallant of Summerside. Besides her parents, Mary was predeceased by her brother Ernest, and sisters and brothers-in-law: Sister Rita Barriault, Edna (Ralph) Pilgrim, Nora (Norbert) MacKinnon and Alfred Gallant. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside, until Friday, Feb. 1, then to the St. Paul’s Church for a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery at a later date. Donations in Mary’s memory to the Prince County Hospital Foundation or St. Paul’s Church Building Fund would be greatly appreciated.
