Fern of Moose Jaw, SK and formerly Mossbank, SK, passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at the age of 85 years. Fern was born in the Vantage district on June 9, 1927 to John and Elsie (nee Fordyce) Craig. Fern married Roy Tollefson and they were blessed with four children. Fern dearly loved her family and they were the most important part of her life; she enjoyed hearing about their many accomplishments. Fern enjoyed working on the farm, yard work and planting flowers in the springtime, harvest time and taking meals to the field in the fall. Her faith was an integral part of her life; she was a lifelong member of the United Church. Fern was a strong community advocate and tireless worker who liked to be behind the scenes in getting a job done, especially with her work at the Mossbank Museum. She was a strong supporter of medicare and believed in an equal access to health care. Fern was proud of her children, grandchildren, friends, farm, flowers, faith and Scottish heritage. She enjoyed baking, entertaining family and friends and could make a meal out of next to nothing. Fern was a gentle, kind and loving person, and could never say "no" to anyone. She was a loving mother, wife, sister, grandmother and friend, and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Fern is survived by her loving family, beloved husband of 64 years Roy Tollefson; son Terry (Rosemarie) Tollefson, and their children: Errin, Heather, Mary, Megan; son Laurie (Chris) Tollefson, and their children: Sarah (Scott Clarkson), Greg (Amanda Clarke), Eric (Shannon Storey), Mark; daughter Kate Thomson (Garnet Printz), and her children: Kim (John) Thomliston, Stephen (Stacey Jestin), Erica (Tristan Houde); son Tim (Lorna) Tollefson, and their children: Brett (Aubrey Baron), Lee, great-grandchildren: Aidan, Nevaeh and Lucy; and brothers Ken and Doug (Orla); sisters-in-law, Dorothy and Phyllis. Predeceased by son-in-law Chuck Thomson; her parents John and Elsie (nee Fordyce) Craig, sister Ruth (Doug Whitaker) and brothers Cleave, Bud (Rayma), Elwood , Everet (Marj), Lawrence and sister-in-law Jeanette. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 4, 2013, at Mossbank United Church, Mossbank, SK. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Fern's memory may be given to the Kidney Foundation of Saskatchewan, 1545C McAra St., Regina, SK S4N 6H4 and the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan, 301-2550 12th Ave., Regina, SK S4P 3X1, or a charity of your choice.
