Born: August 25th, 1942

Passed on: February 4th, 2013

It is with extreme sadness for the family to announce the sudden passing of an extraordinary man.

Walter was an amazing husband to both Connie Calver and Linda Bitz (who passed away in 1996). Walter had three children: Danny (predeceased), Cherie and Troy. He also welcomed Connie's children Neil and Lori into his family 14 years ago, as well as their children. Altogether they had eleven grandchildren who he loved dearly. Also to cherish his memory are his brothers and sisters: Charmaine, Annette, Leo, Catherine and Earl.

Walter was also predeceased by his parents Leo and Marie Bitz, sister Leonmarie and brother Grant.

Walter also had some great relationships with his brothers and sisters in-law and many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by everyone he leaves behind. He was a great lover, friend, uncle, father, grandpa, listener and advisor (if you asked!).

Walter was born in Bralorne, B.C. After a couple years, his family continued their journey to Chillwack where he attended school. He moved to Prince George in the early 70's. This is where he raised his children, raced cars, fished, hunted, golfed, snowmobiled and worked as on heck of a mechanic. For the past 14 years, he has lived in the Kamloops area running his powder coating business. When he wasn't working at the shop or home, he continued to be active, and acquired a new passion for horseback riding with the boys and travelling with Connie.

The family would like to thank all the nurses and doctors at RIH who supported us throughout Walter's short illness. Your compassion and support will never be forgotten. As well, we would like to commend the staff at the Kamloops Hospice for their dedication, warm hearts and hugs during our last week with Walter.

Please join the family as we Celebrate Walter's life on Monday, February 11th, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in the Schoening Funeral Chapel, 513 Seymour Street, Kamloops.
