Born in St. Louis on Feb. 19, 1934, son of the late Ernest Myers and the late Veronica (nee Doucette) Gallant DesRoches. Husband of Alice Vautour. Father of Joseph (Stella) Doucette, Dartmouth, NS; Alice (Bert) MacDonald, Westville, NS; and Cathy (Carl) MacKay, Stellarton, NS. Grandfather of Amie, Kevin, Steven and Justin. Great-grandfather of Bryleigh, Ethan, Kaden, Hayley and Joseph. Stepfather of Ronald (Mechelle) Vautour, Gary (Gloria) Vautour, Amanda Vautour (Bill Henderson) and Jennifer Vautour. Stepgrandfather of Randy, Mechelle, Micheal and Keanna Vautour and step-great-grandfather to Kealeigh Vautour. Brother of Audrey Doucette (Edward deceased), Leonard Gallant (Jean deceased), Carl Gallant (deceased), Alice (Joe T.) Gallant, Sadie (Joe) Perry, Shirley (Lewis) Riley, Dora (John) Deschamp, Doreen (Clayton) Gallant, Bobby (Sandra) Gallant, and Judy Bernard (Brian deceased). Brother-in-law of Theresa Gallant. Predeceased by his brother Francis (Pinky) Gallant, stepfathers Cecil Gallant and Peter DesRoches and stepsister Geraldine DesRoches. Resting at the Davison Funeral Home, Kensington. In keeping with Joe’s wish there will be no visitation or funeral. If so desired, contributions may be made to the Cancer Society.
