BONNELL, Russell Lee – 62, Crowes Mills, passed away peacefully, with his loving family at his side, on Thursday, February 7, 2013, at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born May 24, 1950, in Truro, he was a son of the late Carl and Mabel (Lynds) Bonnell. Russell worked at Kent Homes for many years until his retirement. Many will remember early morning whipper snippering and the barking dog. Russell’s motto was: “If I’m up, you might as well be up too”! Russell is survived by his son, Donald “Donnie” (Amy) Bonnell, Crowes Mills; daughters, Diane Taylor, Truro; Anne Dykeman, Truro; grandchildren, Brittney, Jorden, Clarissa, Austin, Christian, Michael; sister, Judy MacBurnie (David Whooten), Crowes Mills; several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Carl Lee in infancy. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where the funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, February 13, 2013, Reverend Henry Boehm officiating.
