LINACY – Elizabeth L. “Betty” MacDonald, 76, Linacy, went to be with her Lord, Saturday, February 9, 2013 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by her family.
Born on McGrath’s Mountain, she was a daughter of the late John Peter and Catherine Mary (McGrath) Campbell. In earlier years she was employed as a hairdresser with the former Cinderella Beauty Salon, New Glasgow. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Betty’s life was lived in the shadow of the deep faith she possessed.
Surviving are her husband of 51 years, Kent “Bubs” MacDonald; sons, Peter (Jane) MacDonald, and their son, Christopher, Linacy; Kirk MacDonald and his son, Kent, Linacy; Elden (Lara) MacDonald and their children, Tanner and Maya, Greenwood; brother, James Campbell, McGrath’s Mountain; special brothers, Bernie McGrath, Coalburn; Calvary "Kelly" (Simone) McGrath, LaVerne, Calif.; Vernon (Marlene) McGrath, Broadway; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Dan and Vincent; aunt, Theresa.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel with Pastor Glenn Ronson and Pastor Ryan King officiating. Interment will be in Lorne Street Cemetery, New Glasgow at a later date.
