She attended her weekly card clubs for many years, was a lifetime member of St. John’s Altar Society and received her 25-year certificate of appreciation for volunteer work with the Canadian Cancer Society. She was the ‘keeper of the key’ and booked all the functions at the North End Recreation Centre when it first opened and for many years thereafter. During the Second World War she worked making shells at the munitions factory in Trenton. She loved sports, especially those involving her brothers, husband, then her children and grandchildren. She was an avid Montreal Canadiens fan. Many thanks to Dr. Tom Park for the care he provided to our mother for many years. Our family is grateful to the staff at Glen Haven Manor for their excellent care over the past 3 1/2 years. The family also wants to thank Dr. Farrell and the nurses in Palliative Care for their wonderful caring during our mother’s last days. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to R.H.
