It is with great sadness the family of Daniel Henry wish to announce his passing on Feb. 8, 2013. at the New Waterford Consolidated Hospital.
Born in New Waterford, he was the son of the late Charles and Mary (Fortune) Henry.
Daniel worked in the coal mines, in earlier years he enjoyed darts, bowling, playing the fiddle and golfing, in which he received two golden putters, one on July 21, 1994, and another May 5, 1995.
He is survived by sons, David (Doris), Fort McMurray, Fabian (Iris), Chuck (Heather), both of New Waterford; daughters, Stasia, Donna Marie (Joey) MacKinnon and Raylene (Robert) Tighe, all of New Waterford; and a sister, Josephine (Bernie) Snyder, Toronto; his grandchildren, Cindy, Lindsay, Raylene, Frankie, David, Jason, Fabian, Nicholas, Chuck, Chad, Joey, Sandy and Robert; great-grandchildren, Jasmine, Myra, Audrey, Jessica, Nevaeh, Madison, Ellie, Peyton, Carter, Dawson, Dylan, Dallas, Jacob, Logan, Edward, Collin and Fabian.
Besides his parents, Daniel was also predeceased by his wife, Mary (MacIsaac), son, Sandy, sisters, Catherine, Frances, brothers, Charles ‘Bunker’, Fabian, Bernie, Eddie, Tommy and Ray.
Cremation has taken place and a funeral mass will be Thursday, Feb. 14 at 10 a.m. in the Parish of Saint Leonard, Mt. Carmel Avenue with Fr. Ray Huntley officiating. Burial in Mount Carmel Cemetery followed by a luncheon at the KOC, Plummer Avenue. All are welcome.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave., New Waterford, 862-7500.
