It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the sudden passing of Lloyd E. Canavan, 31, on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013.
Born in North Sydney, he was the son of the Brenda Canavan, Sydney and David Fowler, Dominion.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his son, Jackson; his maternal grandmother, Wanda (Canavan) McGean and Brian McGean ‘Lloyd’s poppy and best friend’, with whom he resided in North Sydney; his paternal grandparents, Joan and David Fowler Sr., Glace Bay; his siblings, Ashley, David, Edmond and Alana Fowler; his aunts, Shelly Fraser and Uncle Derrick Fraser, Noelle Rose (Dave), Viola Brufatto, Margaret Mitchell, Georgina Neville and Uncle Joe Fowler; his nephew and many cousins; his step-grandmother, Patricia McGean; his uncle Wayne Canavan (Diane); aunt June Jacques (George), aunt Sherry Porter (David) and uncle Keith Gillis.
Lloyd was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Lloyd Edward Canavan, for whom he was named after, his infant brother, Gregory David, his aunt, Katrina in infancy, his uncles, Davey Canavan, Johnny Fowler, Howard and Bramwell Gillis and his great-grandparents, Isabelle and Alex Canavan, Dorcas and Gordon Gillis, James and Margaret Nearing and Jack and Christina Fowler.
There will be no visitation. A funeral service for Lloyd will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney, with Diane Kempt DLM officiating. Burial to take place at Lakeside Cemetery, North Sydney, at a later date.
