W. Ritchie Allison

William ‘Ritchie’ Allison was born in May 1920 near Dunbar, Ont. to Fred and Mabel (Shaver) Allison. He passed away peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013 in Mississauga, Ont.
On June 29, 1942, Ritchie married F. Helen Stewart. Helen is a daughter of the James Stewart family from Dalmeny Corners. Ritchie and Helen had four children who survive him, William, Toronto; Alec and his wife Marie-André, their five children and four grandchildren, Victoria, B.C.; Greg and his wife Susan, Ottawa; Janet and her two children, Mississauga.
Helen continues to reside in Mississauga.

Ritchie was predeceased by his parents; his sister, Luella Smith of Guelph and his brother, Hartley, Morrisburg.
After graduating high school, Ritchie joined the Royal Bank in Winchester, Ont.
He enlisted in the RCAF in 1941, serving as a pilot in Britain. He retired as a flying officer after four years service.
Ritchie returned to the bank and will be well remembered by those who worked alongside him in Ontario, Quebec and Nova Scotia. He retired in 1980 as regional manager in Windsor, Ont.
He was generous with his talents, serving local charitable and community organizations throughout his working life and retirement. Ritchie was a family man of great kindness, loyalty and humour.
