Louis passed-away peacefully at Dartmouth General Hospital on 12 Feb 2013.
Born in Louisdale on 18 April 1931, he was the youngest son of Walter and Clara.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marie; sons Walter (Ottawa), Kevin (Janet) (Dartmouth), Brent (Dartmouth) and daughter Michelle (John) (Sackville). He is also survived by Granddaughter Lindsay (Boudreau) and James Ryan (JR) McMahon ( Sackville).
He was predeceased by brothers Amedie, Eddie, Harry and Joe; sisters Mary, Cecilia, Stella and Lucy. He is survived by his older brother Joseph.
Louis worked at the Sydney Steel plant for 42 years, primarily as a crane operator. He was a loyal member of the Knights of Columbus (Sydney) prior to moving to Dartmouth. He spent many days playing Tarabish with fellow members. Louis enjoyed boxing and could provide details on many of the greatest fights in history. He enjoyed animated discussions and was always willing to share his opinion.
Cremation has taken place. At his request there will be no visitation or memorial service.
