Passed peacefully away at the Palliative Care Unit at the Dr. Leonard A. Miller Center on Sunday, February 17, 2013, George Downey, age 66 years, of Colinet. Predeceased by his parents, Patrick & Marion (nee Bennett) Downey. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife of 45 years, Linda (nee Squires); son Phillip (Maria), CBS; daughter, Kim MacDonald, Nova Scotia; grandchildren: Ryan, Abigail and Spencer; brothers and sisters: Bernard, Colinet, Mary Picco (Jim), Ontario, William (Patricia), St. John’s, his twin brother Patrick (Miriam), Nova Scotia, Ruth Linehan (Derm), Ontario; his aunt Elizabeth Linehan, Colinet; special friends: Ann & Gordon, Colinet; George & Faye, St John’s; and a large circle of extended family and friends. Resting at Our Lady of Grace Church, Colinet. Visitation will take place on Tuesday & Wednesday from 2 p.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 21, 2013.
