At the Stewart Memorial Hospital, Tyne Valley, on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, of Gilbert "Tommy" Francis Sark, Lennox Island, aged 72. Survived by his wife Shirley Sark.
Born in Breadalbane March 30, 1940, son of the late Mary Sark. Tommy was a fine craftsman, who was a master in traditional Mikmaq basket and carving design. Dear father to Jackie Gould (Gilles Arsenault), Summerside; George Sark, Wycogama, NS; Norman Prosper, Toronto, Ont.; Tom Howe (Monique), Nova Scotia; Valerie Howe, Toronto, Ont.; Madlene Sark (Gerry Lewis), Lennox Island; Shanna (Cory) Sark, Lennox Island; Kateleen (Ron) Landren, Scotchford; Kateri Sark (Ricky Bernard), Charlottetown; stepsons Isaac Sark, Lennox Island, and Keith Sark, Nova Scotia. Loving grandfather to 23 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his mother, first wife Bonnie Sark, son Gilbert and sister Mary Jane Sark. Forwarded from Ferguson's Tyne Valley Funeral Chapel on Friday, Feb. 22, to Shirley's home at 59 Oapas Trail, Lennox Island, for visiting hours Friday evening, Feb. 22. A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday, Feb. 23, at 1 p.m. at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church. Interment to follow at a later date in the St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church Cemetery, Lennox Island.
