GREG TAYLOR

Card of Thanks
Gregory W. Taylor

We, the family of the late Greg Taylor would like to express our sincere gratitude for the support given to our family over the last 17 months. From the moment you found out that Greg had terminal cancer we were showered with love and support. On the days when the thought of cooking was overwhelming, food, gift cards and money would appear at our door. Snow was cleared, grass was mowed, a roof was built, repairs done - Thank you, we were humbled. Greg wanted to “live” with his cancer and friends and family made that possible. For every night out, every dinner, every morning sitting by the water, every campfire, and every game of golf - Thank you. Greg loved to have people stop by and visit and you did that in abundance. He could have been having a miserable day but by the end of your visit he was sitting up and animated – Thank you. Greg loved music and wanted to have a party this summer. He just had to mention it and you came – Thank you. Greg developed a sweet tooth and had a constant supply of tea biscuits, scones, pies, cookies and homemade bread – Thank you. Palliative care looked after Greg’s symptom management from day one. He always wanted to know exactly what was happening. Greg developed a deep bond with his team of doctors and nurses, especially Dr. Ann Francis D’Intino, Lori Mortimer and Cathy MacMillan. I don’t have the words to describe the sense of peace and caring we felt. I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to care for Greg but you were there every step of the way for both of us – Thank you. Dr. Peter Poulos was available for Greg from the moment he found out he had cancer. You took on many roles over the course of Greg’s illness; family physician, palliative care doctor, confidant but most treasured – friend. I know I couldn’t have gone through this without your support – Thank you. To my co-workers, you can’t imagine how grateful I am for every phone call, every dinner, every visit, every gift card (and there were many) and all those baked goodies – Thank you. To Greg’s pallbearers; he chose you because you were his most beloved friends. He was blessed to have you – Thank you. To Dan Campbell and Peter Walsh at W. J. Dooley’s Funeral Home, you combined friendship and professionalism so seamlessly – Thank you. To Father Peter MacLeod, thank you for officiating at the funeral mass and allowing Rev. David Stewart to participate. It meant a lot to our family. Thank you to all who assisted during the mass, both choirs and the ladies auxiliary for the lunch. To everyone who asked about Greg or said a prayer during his illness we greatly appreciated it. For every Mass card, sympathy card, donation in Greg’s name, flowers and food brought to our home – Thank you. We felt both humbled and blessed to have so much love and support shown to our family. Greg faced his cancer journey with friends and family by his side. We will be forever grateful to you for giving him the support to reach every goal he set.

God Bless You,

Sandra, Jessica and Lindsey Taylor
