It is with great sadness that on January 9, 2010, Mr. Adam Gerald Gattinger of Winnipeg, MB, formerly of Swan River, MB, passed away at the age of 21 years. Adam is survived by his parents Gerry and Patty Gattinger; his brother Daniel and sister Julie, Swan River, MB; his grandparents Fred and Irene Gattinger, Moose Jaw, SK; his grandmother June Just, Yorkton, SK; his uncle Peter Gattinger and Connie Panno, Regina, SK; his uncle Todd, aunt Whitney, cousins Taylor and Tanner Gattinger, Burnaby, BC; his aunt Pam, uncle Greg, cousins Lindsay and Joel Graves, Saskatoon, SK; his aunt Penny, uncle Paul, cousins Karli and Megan Hickie, Calgary, AB; and his uncle Jeff, aunt Kristina, cousins Jillian, Emma and Mathew Just, Yorkton, SK. Adam was predeceased by his grandfather Lyle Just of Yorkton, SK. Adam was born in Winnipeg, MB, moving to Swan River in July, 1991. Adam graduated from the Swan Valley Regional Secondary School in 2006 with Honours. After receivig his high school diploma, Adam went on to attend Red River College in Winnipeg, where he obtained his private pilot's license and successfully completed the Aviation Management Program in April, 2008. Adam was employed at ServisAir in Winnipeg progressing through the aviation industry to his goal of becoming a commercial airline pilot. During high school Adam became involved with the CO-OP Youth Leadership program at Camp Wannacumbac, Clear Lake where he facilitated leadership programs, worked summers as a camp counsellor and was hired to be program director for the summer of 2010. Adam's funeral was held Monday, January 18, 2010 at the Veterans Community Hall, Swan River. Pastor Neal Effa officiated with interment in the Birchwood Cemetery. Urnbearers were Adam's brother Daniel and sister Julie. Eulogy was given by Adam's cousins Lindsay Graves, Joel Graves, Karli Hickie and Taylor Gattinger. "Leaving On a Jet Plane" musical tribute performed by Camp Wannacumbac counsellors and "Steadily" performed by Garrett Watson. "We will remember Adam for always sporting that darn infectious grin and no matter what he did you got caught up in it." In lieu of tributes, donations may be made to the Swan Valley Health Facilities Foundation Inc., PO Box 1450, Swan River, MB, R0L 1Z0.
