It is with extremely heavy hearts that we the family say good-bye to a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Mary Sharon (Davis) MacDow passed away suddenly on Saturday, March 2, 2013, at the Glace Bay Hospital surrounded by her family.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Gertrude Davis.
Sharon is survived by her husband of 48 years, Gordon; daughters, Linda (home), Patricia (Terry) Humber, Sharry (Kelly) Bates, Rita (Jason) Timmons; grandchildren, Robyn Lynn, Austin, Nicole, Justin, Liam and Rylun; brothers, Babe, Cyril, Kevin; and sister, Rita, along with the MacDow family.
She was predeased by brothers Edward, Gerald, Melvin and sister in law Rita.
Sharon’s unselfish nature, compassion and kindness made her a much loved person and she will be sadly missed by all that knew her. She was an active member of Holy Rosary Parish and member of the CWL.
Special thank you to Dr. Kevin Mac Neil, nursing staff of the ICU and emergency department of the Glace Bay Hospital for their special care and treatment.
Visitation will be held Monday, March 4, 2013, at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will take place 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at Holy Rosary Church, Westmount, with Fr. Douglas Murphy and Fr. Everett MacDow officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Interment to follow in the church cemetery. Reception to take place at the Westmount Legion.
