Corinne MacKenzie

Born In: North Sydney

Corinne V. MacKenzie, 50, Dartmouth, The world is missing one truly genuine person – a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Corinne (Power) MacKenzie of Dartmouth, formerly of North Sydney, passed away peacefully at the age of 50.
Corinne was the third daughter born to Pat and the late Robert ‘Bob’ Power, with three more siblings soon to follow. She grew up in this strong family unit where she learned the values she later carried into her own family with Rob, her high school and life time love and their two children, Nicole and Matthew.
Once those children came, there was no working outside the home for her. Nicole and Matthew were the centre and joy of her life and they flourished under her love and attention. Later, Corinne shared her zest for life while working at Sobeys, where she so enjoyed her co-workers and customers alike.
Corinne had a wide range of interests and turned a keen mind and skilled hand to cooking, baking, sewing, knitting, scrapbooking and word puzzles and not so skilled feet to dance dance revolution – pure entertainment.
Being blessed with a large family network, she leaves lasting memories with Rob, Nicole, and Matthew; her mom, Pat; sisters, Charmaine Knickle (Everett), Carolyn Cookie Power (Donnie), Cheryl MacIntosh (Glen); brothers, Christopher Power (Rhonda), Chad Power (Kerri-Lynn); brother-in-law, Steve MacKenzie (Elsie); mother-in-law, Exilda Dodie MacKenzie; sisters-in-law, Paula Druhan (Paul), Sylvia Dearing (Greg), Agnes Hull (Austin); many cherished nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
We would remiss if we didn’t mention life time friend, Pam Morrison, and nephew, Greg, who was like a second son and big brother to Nicole and Matthew.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Cole Harbour Funeral Home, 1234 Cole Harbour Rd. Visitation will be held 1–2 p.m. Tuesday, March 12 in Cole Harbour Funeral Home, with memorial service to be held at 2 p.m. Reception to follow. Private family interment at a later date
In keeping with Corinne’s caring spirit, donations in her memory can be made to the Autism Society.
A life well lived but ended too early, Corinne will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Till we meet again.
