LÉGER, VALMON - 1938 - 2013 - Cocagne, NB - Valmon Léger, 74, passed away peacefully at the Moncton City Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, on Monday, March 18, 2013, after a lengthy illness. Born in Cocagne, NB on August 11, 1938, he was the son of the late Francis and Yvonne (Richard) Léger. Adopted son of the late Ovila and Clarice Léger of St-Antoine. He was employed at the Department of Transportation in Rexton for many years until his retirement. Valmon was the founder of CADAC (club d’abstinence de drogues, alcool, cigarettes). He was an avid hockey player, coach and a true Montreal Canadian fan. Valmon will be sadly missed by his wife, Aldéa Richard of Cocagne; his three daughters, Carole Robichaud (William LeBlanc) of Dieppe, Suzanne Lund (Darren) of Moncton and Denise Maillet (Léo) of Dieppe; his three sisters, Marguerite Goguen (Bernard) of Dieppe, Angela Léger (Paul-Émile) of Grande-Digue and Jeannine Savoie (late Agapit) of Shediac; his brother, Antoine Léger (Hartance) of Cocagne ; his four precious grandchildren, Tiffanie, Melanie, Amanda and Brandon; his furry companion, Bambi; he also leaves to mourn the mother of his children, Simone Léger of Dieppe; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Germaine Boucher (late Guy).
Visitations will be at Passage in Shediac Bridge on Thursday, March 21, 2013 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm and on Friday, March 22, 2013 from 3 pm until time of funeral. Funeral service will be held at the Passage Chapel in Shediac Bridge on Friday, March 22, 2013 at 4 pm. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, Valmon would have preferred a donation to the Canadian Mental Health Association, Greater Moncton SPCA or to the donor’s choice.
