Passed peacefully away at the Palliative Care Unit of the Dr. Leonard A. Miller Centre on Wednesday, March 27, 2013, Marie Simms of Mt. Pearl, at age 82. Predeceased by her parents Thomas & Ida Connolly, and son Thomas (2012). Leaving to mourn her husband Bruce; sons: Leo (Denise) and Cecil; daughter Cathy Corbett (Phil); granddaughter Connie (Amy); grandson Paul; great-granddaughter Jayden; sisters: Joan O’Brien (Frank) of Mount Pearl, Marg Lucas of North Sydney NS, and Madonna Bragg of Hope, BC; step-son Herb Simms (Michelle); granddaughters: Daryn and Rebecca; also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Special thanks to the doctors and staff of the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Clinic, the Palliative Care Unit of Dr. L.A. Miller Centre and the Rose Moore Home Care. Cremation has taken place. Visitation to be held at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Avenue, Mount Pearl, on Thursday & Friday, March 28th & 29th, from 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. Funeral service to be held from St. Peter’s Parish, Ashford Drive, on Saturday, March 30th, at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
