Alphonsus (Phonse) Curtis

Passed away surrounded by his loving family at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital. Alphonsus Curtis, aged 83 years, entered peacefully into eternal life, on February 27, 2013. Predeceased by his loving wife Judith A. Curtis (October 8th, 2000); his parents Thomas and Sarah Curtis; his brothers Pat, Stan, Vince and his sister Sr. Angela Curtis PBVM, St. John’s. Grateful for the gift of his life and his unfailing strength and courage are his sons: Paul (Anna) Mission, BC and David (Brenda); his daughters: Jeanne (Bruce) Edmonton, AB and Tina (Adrian) Surrey, England; as well as his eight precious grandchildren: Avery and Matthew, Ellen and Anna; Katie and Abigail and Sara and Emma. He leaves to mourn one sister Anne (Bill deceased) Battcock. Also blessed by his presence and left to mourn are numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, friends and his parish community of Mary Queen of Peace. Cremation has taken place. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road, visitation on Monday, April 1st from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Mary Queen of Peace Church April 2, 2013 at 1 p.m. Inurnment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to the parish of Mary Queen of Peace, Torbay Road, St. John’s, NL A1A 2G9.
