ROBICHAUD, ALLARD - It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Allard Robichaud, 79, at the Villa Providence, Shediac, peacefully surrounded by his loving family following a lengthy battle with Parkinson's disease on Tuesday, April 3, 2013. Born August 27, 1923 in Dupuis Corner, he was the son of the late Zacharie and Lina (Landry) Robichaud. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 53 years: Francine (Cormier) Robichaud of Shediac; five children: Marc (Suzanne Bourque) and Alain of Shediac, Lise (Louis Blanchard) Robichaud and Suzanne (Marc Grandmaison) Robichaud of Dieppe, and Nicholas (Julie Léger) of Grand-Barachois. Cherished grandfather to Julien, Véronique, Geneviève, Olivier, Jacob, Nadia and Alec as well as Joshua and Sébastien. He also leaves to mourn his brothers: Ronald (Judy), Jean-Louis (Judianne), Léo (Rose-Marie), Norbert (Rachelle), Armand (Raymonde), Normand (Karen) and Roger (Diane); sisters: Claudette (Léandre) Bourque and Francine (late John) Nott. A visionary with a remarkable sense for business, he was always ready to give of his time and talents. Among his many contributions, he was co-founder of Pizza Delight, founder and president of Park Chedik Shediac, founding member of the Rotary Club of Shediac, a member of the Board of ACOA and the Moncton Hospital. Allard had a great interest in municipal and provincial politics. Moreover, sat on the Shediac town council as counselor and deputy mayor. His natural charisma and joie de vivre made him capable of bringing people together towards a common project. He was also a great sportsman, who has distinguished himself particularly in hockey and golf.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac (532-3297). Visiting hours Friday, April 5, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. ONLY. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Saint-Joseph R.C. Church, 415 Main Street, Shediac, Saturday, April 6 at 11 am. followed by a reception at the Saint-Joseph R.C. Pastoral Center.
