Harvey LeRoy Stevens, age 73 of River Hebert passed away peacefully on Sunday March 31st 2013 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre. Born in River Hebert he was a son of the late Burt and Lottie (Snowdon) Stevens.
Harvey was an avid outdoors man, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and could always be found in his wood lot or at his camp. He was an active member of the Nova Scotia Marksman Association.
Harvey is survived by his children, Bonnie (David) Rector, Jamie (Twila) Stevens, Shelia (Darcy Andrews) Proctor, Susan Amell, Laurie (Tammy) Stevens; 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Margaret "Peggy" Ricker, Leone Bugley and Charlotte Purdy; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a daughter, Darlene (1969); sisters, Doreen Edwards, Betty Gower, and twins, Pearl Bugley and Roberta McFadden; brothers, Sidney "Skip", Garfield, Ralph and Clarence.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Furlong Jones Funeral Home, River Hebert. Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday April 5, 2013 from noon until 1 PM. A funeral service will follow immediately at 1 PM, Rev. Clarence Clarke officiating. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Harvey may do so to the Kidney Foundation.
