Lucy Alice M. Smith, 100, River Hebert, passed away Sunday April 14, 2013 in Gables Lodge, Amherst.
Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of the late John C. and Annie (Letcher) Hollis. Lucy was a member of the Trinity United Church, River Hebert and was also a member of it’s UCW and the church choir. She enjoyed quilting, knitting and crocheting. Lucy was able to live in her own home right up until 2 years ago, a fact she was very proud of. She is survived by her daughter, Gloria Porter, Amherst; granddaughter Loretta Jane Smith, Delta BC; grandson Timothy Smith, Amherst; great grandchildren Matthew, Timothy, and Maggie Smith; brother, Alton (Carol) Hollis, Truro; special friend, Ann Wilson (Russell Armstrong), Joggins. She was predeceased husbands, Roy Porter and Arnold Smith; daughter, Jewel Ann; brothers Cyril and Almer; sister, Dorothy Gorvett.
Following Lucy’s specific request there will be no visitation time, a graveside service that is open to the public will take place Monday, May 6, 2013 at 2pm in the River Hebert Cemetery.
