ZETTLE- Eugene Jack (John) aged 83, of Gull Lake,SK passed away April 12, 2013 at the Gull Lake Special Care Home. The Memorial Mass was held on Wednesday April 17, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church, with Father Prince Kurisinkal officiating. Special music was played by Millie Spagrud, Nora Rudolph and King Gin. The ushers were Ted Sells & Mike Yates, the urn bearer was Gerry Nyen, Reading and Prayer of the Faithful were read by Karen Dickie and Cathy Ford, Gifts to Altar were presented by Sandy Beatty and Aimee Stusrud, and the final resting place is in Gull Lake Cemetery, Gull Lake, SK. John is survived by his daughter, Denise (Henry) Froese; grandchildren, Heather and Trevor Froese; sisters, Phyllis Nyen and Lorraine (Jerome) Hauck; sisters in law, Maevis (Walter) Yates and Aileen Voll; brother in law, Allan (Marion) Voll;as well as numerous nieces and nephews. John is predeceased by his parents, George & Elizabeth Zettel; wife, Esther Zettel; sister, Leona Frieburger; brothers in law, Carl Frieburger, Allan Nyen, Lloyd Voll, Gordon Voll, Jim Wilkenson, George Sherlowski, Casper Klink; and sisters in law, Theresa Wilkenson, Pearl Klink, Joyce Sherlowski, and Gertie Voll. John was born in Gull Lake, SK on July 13, 1929. He attended school in Gull Lake, SK. John was united in marriage to Esther Voll, on June 8,1960 in St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church, in Gull Lake, SK. John farmed most of his life, but also worked in Calgary, AB doing construction, and in Kitchener, ON at the Silverwood Ice Cream Factory, each for a couple of winters. He was a member of the Elks, Knights of Columbus, and whist card groups. John was an avid card player, he loved to read, play baseball, curl, bowl, loved to ride horses, and work with cattle. He was a quiet man with a great sense of humour, he loved animals and had a very special way with them. In John's memory, donations may be made to the Gull Lake Special Care Home Auxiliary, the Autumn House, or to The Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada 301 - 620 Calbone Street London, ON N6B 9Z9.
