It is with sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Cameron Kinchen on April 24th, 2013 at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital. Cameron was predeceased by his father and mother, Jack and Evelyn (nee Best) Kinchen and brother Melvyn Kinchen. He is survived by his brother Floyd, sisters-in-law Dona and Adrienne Kinchen, one niece Cheryl, four nephews Clinton, Darrell, Marvin, and Darwin, several cousins in Canada, Washington State and California.
Cameron was born October 20th, 1937 on the family farm, Limerick, SK. He attended school in Limerick, then joined his parents in their business in Limerick, Kinchen’s Garage and Gulf Oil Co., then drove fuel truck in Assiniboia. He and his mother moved to Moose Jaw in 1984. Cameron had three passions in life: his church, the Masonic Lodge and playing cribbage. He also loved sports and there were only two important teams -- Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Blue Jays. Cameron spent the last three years of his life at the Bentley Retirement Community.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 1st, 2013 at 2:00 pm in the Trinity United Church, Limerick, SK. The Reverend Marilyn Leuty officiating. Masonic Funeral Ceremony will be conducted by the Grand Lodge of Saskatchewan A.F. & A.M. Pallbearers will be nephews: Clinton, Darrell, Marvin and Darwin Kinchen and cousins, Norman and Dean Kinchen. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Donations in Memory of Cameron may be made to the Diabetes Assoc., Assiniboia & District Chpt., Box 1914, Assiniboia, SK S0H 0B0. Arrangements entrusted to Ross Funeral Service, Assiniboia, SK.
