William Donald 'Bill' Tower

It is with broken hearts that we the family announce the passing of William ‘Bill’ Tower on Thursday, May 9, 2013, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late Donald and Joyce (Vail) Tower.
He was a salesman by trade who took great pride in getting the best deal possible for his customers. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 12. He spent many days fishing and hunting as he had a love of the outdoors. In his earlier years, Bill was an avid dart player with many trophies to which he claimed title.
William is survived by his loving wife, Sylvia (Penticost) Tower; daughters, Joyce (Doug) Hill, Point Edward, Raylene Tower (Gary Williams), New Waterford, Krystal (Stephen) MacQueen, Sydney; his three wonderful grandchildren, Ryan Tower, Tyler Hill and Grace MacQueen. He is also survived by his sister, Connie (George) Anderson, Pugwash; his mother-in-law, Alice Penticost, the extended Penticost family as well as many nieces and nephews. Bill is also survived by his best friends, Wayne Hardy and Albert Miles who always took the time to drop in and brighten his day.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Helen Tower, brother, Robert Tower, and father-in-law, Daniel Penticost.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Sunday, May 12, 2013, at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney, from 6-9 p.m. A memorial service will take place 11 a.m., Monday, May 13, 2013, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating.
The family would like to thank Dr. Naqvi and the staff of IMCU for the wonderful care given to William during his illness.
