HOWARD, JANE A. - July 29, 1953 - May 10, 2013 - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jane Alda Howard (MacLeod) of Perth-Andover, NB on May 10, 2013 at Hotel Dieu of Saint Joseph after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 59. Beloved daughter of the late Delbert and Marguerite MacLeod, Jane is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Edward; daughters, Amy (fiancé Ransford Lockhart) and Samantha. In addition, she is survived by her sister, Deborah Latour (Ronald); niece, Michelle Latour (Jacques Desjardins); Caden and Grace as well as Harold Lobozzo, who she considered a brother. She was predeceased by her nephew, Jason Latour. Jane will be greatly missed by her countless friends, especially those who have been named as honourary pallbearers: Pauline O'Brien, Charlene Baird, Pam Tompkins, Beth Larsen and Susan Kukurski. Jane was an avid gardener who amongst other things enjoyed all crafts, especially needlepoint, cooking and travelling. She was often found volunteering in her community and was committed to helping youth organizations. Jane was a Girl Guide leader for over 15 years and had served on committees such as SPAC, the Victoria Glenn Manor Board of Directors, Carleton-Victoria Children's Art Council and served more than 10 years as executive of Christmas Cheer. Jane was a passionate female hockey fan who would never miss an opportunity to support her daughters. A former employee of Scotiabank, Jane was a hard working, entrepreneurial woman who during the course of her life enjoyed jointly owning and operating the Wishing Well, a card and gift shop. Upon retirement, Jane was a stay-at-home mother who was devoted and dedicated to her children, Amy and Samantha.
Resting at the Trinity Anglican Church, Perth-Andover, NB on Monday, May 13, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at 2:00 pm from the church with the Ven. Bonita LeBlanc officiating. Interment will be in the Perth-Andover Anglican Cemetery. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Anglican Parish of Andover or a charity of the donor's choice. L.R.
