It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our dear father Joseph Boudreau on Sunday, May 12, 2013, on the An Cala Unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Louisdale, he was the son of the late Walter and Clara (Landry) Boudreau.
He was a member of Immaculate Heart parish. Joe retired from the Sydney steel plant after 41 years. Dad loved his children and grandchildren with every breath and was most happy in their presence. Joe also cherished the time spent with the ‘coffee club’ gang at Tim Hortons and bombing around on his electric scooter.
Joe is survived by his children, Donna (Allan) Burke, Ingonish, and Craig Boudreau; his loving grandchildren, Todd (Mugsie), Justin (Tonya), Timika, Carmen; great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Parker, Jacie, Harlin and Leighton. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Marie Morrison, Sharon Morrison and Rose Boudreau; brother-in-law, Danny (Evelyn) Morrison; sisters-in-law, Theresa Boudreau, Sydney, and Marie Boudreau, Halifax; as well as nieces and nephews. His special friends, who added tremendously to the quality of dad’s life, Billy Penny, Benny Singler, Mike Fitzgerald and Bobby Long.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Sadie Catherine (Morrison), sisters, Lucy Forrester, Stella Doucette, Mary MacDonald and Cecilia Krzwada, brothers, Amedie, Edward, Louis, and Harry.
The family would like to thank Dr. James MacKillop, the staff of 4B and the doctors and nurses of the palliative-care unit.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney.
