It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the sudden passing of Phyllis Jean Downton Courtney Sunday, May 12, 2013 at the age of 83 years. Predeceased by her parents: Alexander and Clara Piercey and first husband, Donald Downton. Leaving to mourn her beloved husband, Cyril Courtney; sons: Geoffrey Downton and Neil Downton (wife Donna). She will be missed as cherished Grandma to Alex (friend Simone) and David Downton and beloved Nanny to Morgan and Mackenzie Courtney and their mother Lana; stepson David Courtney and his son David; dear friend Marie Walsh; as well as other relatives and a large circle of friends. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Tuesday from 7 - 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral service will take place from the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow in the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road.
