Passed peacefully away on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at the Health Sciences Centre, at the age of 81 after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease. Lewis was a long-time employee with the City of St. John’s until his retirement in 1994. Predeceased by parents Harold and Rita Hussey, brothers Roy, Clifford and Cecil. Leaving to mourn with very fond and loving memories, wife Jean (Churchill); sons: Harold (Rosanne) and Lewis (Gillian); daughters: Maxine (Lionel) and Lisa (Bill); four grandchildren: Rita, Harold, Jake and Kasey. Also leaving to mourn one sister Jean L’Ecuyer (Adrian), Ontario; uncle Wallace Hussey of New Jersey; aunt Grace Mitchell; sisters-in-law: Eileen, Joan, Ann, Marg and Joan (BC); brothers-in-law: Tolson and Doug Churchill, as well as many cousins and friends. A special thank you to Dr. Peter Noel, Mary Hicks and Community Health nurses as well as doctors and staff of 5 North A, Health Sciences Centre. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road with visitation on Saturday from 7-9 p.m. on Sunday from 2-9 p.m. and on Monday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Monday, May 20, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Lawrence Anglican Church, Portugal Cove.
