Passed peacefully away at the QE II Hospital in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Cassandra Jean King, formerly of Portugal Cove-St. Philips, Newfoundland, aged 81 years. Predeceased by her husband Samuel King, her brother Albert Hussey and her sisters: Effie Mercer and May Rodgers-White. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her daughter Dorothy King (Mike) of Halifax; son Albert King (Lynn) of Ontario; brothers: Eli Hussey (Sylvia) and Eldon Hussey (Bertha); as well as grandchildren: Jason, Caroline, Matthew and Nicole. Also left are a large circle of nieces and nephews. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, May 21 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral Service will take place from the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, May 22 at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow from the United Church Cemetery on Bauline Line, Portugal Cove.
