Cecil Bernard Weatherbee

Weatherbee, Cecil Bernard – 75, Truro Heights, passed away peacefully, on May 17, 2013, in the palliative care unit of Colchester East Hants Health Center, Truro, surrounded by his family.
Born in Truro Heights, he was a son of the late Homer and Ada (Dartt) Weatherbee.
Cecil was well known in the community for always for always lending a helping hand, doing carpentry work, as well as gardening, fishing, and camping. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who touched each one of our lives in a special way.
Cecil is survived by his wife, of 53 years, the former Lillian Keefer; sons, Darcy, Darrell (Brenda); daughter, Dianna (Peter) Vissers; grandchildren, Sarah, Vicky, Julie, Amy, Joey, Jolene, Cody; great-grandchildren, Lucas, Malena, and Gilby; brothers, Leland, Ross (Linda), Raymond (Mary); sister, Beatrice (Gary) Hingley; brothers-in-law, Harry Johnson, Donald Harvey; sister-in-law, Marie Weatherbee; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Cecil will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him.
Besides his parents, Cecil was predeceased by his sisters, Eva Johnson, Zelda Harvey; and brother, Ivan.
Cremation has taken place.
No visitation by request.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, May 22, at 2 p.m., in Truro Heights United Baptist Church, Pastor Greg Porter officiating. Burial will follow in Truro Heights Baptist Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Lung Association of Nova Scotia.
Arrangements are under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit.
