Flanagan, Velma J. - 77, New Annan, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, May 26, 2013 in the Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital, Tatamagouche. Born in Wentworth, she was a daughter of the late Leo and Helen (Kennedy) Yorke. Velma enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing. She was loved and cherished by all her family and will be dearly missed. Velma is survived by her daughters, Linda Flanagan; Connie Mattinson (Dave Willemsen); Debbie Flanagan (Greg Smith); Karen Flanagan (Kevin Rushton); Patty (Rod) Adams; brother, Jim Yorke; sisters, Ruth Brown; Donna (Roy Richards); sons in law, Guy Mattinson and Brian Hunt; grandchildren, Joey (Jennifer) Hunt; Andy Hunt; Amy (David) Donaldson; Zachary Hunt (Jess); Amanda Heitkemper (Adam); Johnny (Candace) Mattinson; Matthew Beebe (Emma); Jackie (Jeremy)Tattrie; Cole (Lacey), Becky, Laura and Abby Adams; great-grandchildren, Stephen, Ethan, Katy, Vance, Breanna, Genelyn, Sawyer, Eli; Emma, Cohen, Bailey, Hunter, Colton, Addienna, Ryder, Ellie, Mason, Lylah, and Cooper; many nieces and nephews. Velma was predeceased by her husband, Jim; daughter, Helen Joyce; grandson, Danny Hunt; brothers Wilfred and Keith. Velma's family will receive visitors from 7-9 p.m., Tuesday, May 28 in MacDiarmid's Funeral Home, 14067 Hwy. 4, Wentworth (447-2930). Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 29 in the New Annan Heritage House (the former West New Annan United Church).
