Olive 'Ollie' Kelloway

Born In: Glace Bay

Passed in: Sydney River
Passed on: May 29th, 2013

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Olive ‘Ollie’ Viola Kelloway on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Harbourstone Enhanced Care in Sydney River, surrounded by her family.
Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Reuben and Amy (Bodger) Morford.
Ollie lived in Donkin all her life until she moved to Sydney in 2005 to be close to her family. Mom/Nan was the most caring, kind and compassionate person you could ever meet. She spent countless hours knitting and baking and loved a good game of bingo. She loved her visits from her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren (who loved to entertain her with little dances whenever they saw her, just to see Nana laugh). She also looked forward to her daily afternoon visits with her son, Bill, who looked after her for the last 28 years following the death of her husband, William, in 1985.
Ollie will be sadly missed by her son, Bill (Melva), Sydney River; daughters, Roberta (Ray) Paxman, Oakville, Ont.; Shirley Dupuis, Donkin; grandchildren, Kristen (Chris) Parsons and Mark Kelloway, both of Sydney River; five grandchildren in Ontario and out west, great-grandchildren, Madison and Peyton Parsons, Aaliyah, Hunter and Autumn Kelloway and eight great-grandchildren in Ontario, along with her sister, Marion.
Besides her parents, Ollie was predeceased by her husband, William in 1985; brother, Victor and sisters, Amy, Iris, Rosie, Ruby, Gloria and three siblings in infancy.
Ollie resided for the last four years at Harbourstone Enhanced Care, St. Ann’s Bay. The family wishes to thank her caregivers for the excellent care and support they provided to her.
Visitation for Ollie Kelloway will take place on Saturday from 1-2 p.m., with the funeral service at 2 p.m., Archbishop Brenda Drake officiating, both taking place at T.W.Curry Parkview Chapel. Interment in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens, Sydney.
Donations in Ollie’s memory can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
